Activities and entertainment such as holiday parties, trips and picnics, are provided to bring a little bit of happiness to the lives of these children at an otherwise difficult time. Featured Team Griffin's Friend Runner JOANN VALLERA JoannVallera was born on 4/24/66 in Steubenville, OH. Joann went to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio for her undergraduate degree and dental school. She is a dentist with offices in West Springfield, MA and Ellington, CT. Joann moved to New England in 1992, and now resides in Longmeadow with her family. Although she is a dedicated Cleveland Indians fan, Joann loves to go to Fenway Park. There's nothing better than a baseball game and a cold beer! Joann is married to Steven Landman; Joann and Steve have four year old triplets! Joann says her "kids want to grow up to be runners so they can eat pizza and jelly beans all the time!" Though this is Joann's second Marathon Challenge and she has done much carbo-loading, she is apparently the only person in Western Mass that has not had pizza from the Red Rose! Joann says that she hs met the greatest group of people running with Team Griffin's Friends. She said that she "truly hopes my efforts make a difference." We are very glad to have Joann Vallera as a member of Team Griffin's Friends.
